Medicine, medical devices and healthcare products policy
Medicines, medical devices and healthcare products are regulated by the Therapeutic Goods Administration. As such we do not allow users to list any drugs, medications or medical devices that require a prescription from a licensed practitioner.
Over-the-counter (OTC) medicines and personal healthcare products may be listed, however these items must be new, supplied in its original packaging and delivered prior to the item?s expiration date. All items listed must include the AUST R or AUST L number from the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods (ARTG).
Please note the following items are not allowed:
- Any product classified by the Therapeutic Goods Administration as requiring a prescription
- Ephedrine and pseudoephedrine in any form or combination
- Injectable substances
- Insulin in all forms, including non-prescription
- Products containing ephedra or ma huang
- Medicines or healthcare items subject to recall
- Expired items
- Contact lenses (prescription or non-prescription)
- Medical devices without a valid ARTG number
- Medical devices which require a prescription
- Complete disposable syringes with needles
Describing medicines, medical devices and healthcare products
In the product listings and when describing the products, users are only allowed to refer to the indications which are included in the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods for that specific product. Personal testimonials are allowed but cannot guarantee that results will be the same for everyone.
Agricultural & veterinary products
Veterinary medicines and agricultural chemicals are regulated by the Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority - opens in new window or tab (APVMA). All agricultural and veterinary chemical products offered for sale in Australia must have an APVMA/NRA registration number, and all products listed must be OTC or registered agricultural products, show the item?s expiration date and supplied in the original sealed packaging.
