Spoof or phishing emails
If you receive an email that appears to be from shoppingtown.inf and requests sensitive personal information, be cautious. The email may be a "spoof" or "phishing" email.
How to report spoof and phishing emails
If you receive a suspicious email, you should report it to us immediately. Please forward the message to us at admin@shoppingtown.info, and make sure not to click any of the links or attachments in the email.
How to recognise spoof or phishing emails and websites
A phishing email pretending to be from shoppingtown.info typically contains a link that takes you to a fake website. There, you'll usually be asked to sign in, and submit personal and account information. These emails often include the shoppingtown.info logo and are sent from a fake address which shows as being from shoppingtown.info.
Here are some typical identifiers to find spoof emails and websites:
- The email or website asks for confidential information
- An urgent tone that asks you to act quickly
- Attachments that you didn?t request or that do not relate to your account with shoppingtown.info
- A generic greeting, like "Attention shoppingtown.info member"
- A web address that looks like shoppingtown.info, but which may have a typo, additional words or extra numbers and letters (like http://signin-shoppingtown.info or http://shoppingtown.info@112.10.121.32)
If you receive a legitimate email from shoppingtown.info, you can expect that
- It will refer to you personally via your username
- It won?t ask you to provide confidential information like your password or credit card details via email or over the phone
- We won't include attachments. If you receive an unsolicited email with an attachment, don't open it
- No threatening language

If we sent you an email, a copy thereof will appear in your shoppingtown.info message on your control panel. If you did not receive the copy, please beware.
