Orders up to AU $1,000
shoppingtown.info is considered an Electronic Distribution Platform (EDP) under the relevant legislation and therefore responsible for collecting the GST on low value imports and paying it to the Australian Government. We will therefore add the GST at checkout on all import items with an order value less than AU $1,000. We will then remit the GST to the ATO, and can provide users with proof that this has been completed if required by law.
As a seller based outside Australia you confirm and agree that your prices may appear 10% due to the addition of the GST at checkout to comply with the above obligation, and that we will not report the GST collected to you, however we will indicate that GST was paid / collected on your Order details page. This will however not affect your payment as seller, and you will receive payment of the listing price as normal.
Orders over AU $1,000
Seller don't collect GST on orders over AU $1,000, as this is collected at the Australian border
